Soldier MIA

I enlisted, trained and entered the skirmish in relatively short order. I found myself on the battle field with little or no assistance, yet I persisted to survive. A series of events caused me to be completely isolated from the brigade and the combat I had enlisted for. I found myself lost in an unknown land. I no longer had use for the weapons or equipment I possessed. I reluctantly learned the language of the foreign people in this unknown land.  Years have gone by but the disorientation has remained. I have made several attempts to make contact with my group, yet to no avail. It seems like I have been written off and forgotten a long time ago .I remain separated from my position and purpose with no hope of restoration .I subsist solely to subsist as a soldier haunted by a past that never occurred.
